Terms of use

FitDoc is software for running a small clinic: a website, online booking, patient records, documents and billing. It is not a medical device and it does not practise medicine.

Every clinical judgement is yours. Where the software drafts something — a discharge summary assembled from your notes, for instance — it is a draft. You are responsible for reading it, correcting it and signing it. Nothing leaves your clinic in your name without you putting it there.

Your patients' records belong to your patients and your practice. We hold them for you. Ask at any time and we will export them in a form you can keep and use elsewhere.

You are responsible for having whatever consent the law requires from your patients to record and store their information, and for answering their requests about it.

Nothing at present. If we ever introduce a charge, existing clinics will be told well in advance and will not be switched off without a clear choice and time to take their records with them.

You agree not to:

• Put records in it for people who are not your patients.
• Share a sign-in with someone who should not see patient records.
• Try to reach another clinic's data, or test the service's security without asking us first.
• Use it for anything unlawful.

If you find a security problem, please write to us before telling anyone else. We will take it seriously and we will not respond with lawyers.

We do not promise that the service will never be down. It is a small operation and things occasionally break. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose for a day — and if something breaks, tell us and we will fix it.

You can stop whenever you like; ask us and we will export your records and close the account.

We may close an account that is being used in the ways listed above, or unlawfully. If we ever have to, you will be told why and given your records first, except where the law forbids it.

Nothing here limits our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Beyond that, and because the service is provided free of charge, our liability to you is limited to putting the problem right.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kerala have jurisdiction.
